New England Natural Bakers Introduces High Protein Granola

Extends successful Organic Select product line with two new flavors

Greenfield, MA – June 23th 2014 – New England Natural Bakers is proud to announce the addition of two new flavors to their successful line of Organic Select Granola and Muesli: Organic High Protein Blueberry Harvest Granola and Organic High Protein Unsweetened 5 Seed Granola.    

“These products represent a strategy, as we continue to introduce innovative, functional products with health attributes the consumers seeks, such as these high protein and unsweetened offerings,” said VP of Sales and Marketing Pam Clark.

The Five Seed Granola is the third unsweetened SKU in the line, joining the Organic Gluten Free Unsweetened Berry Coconut Granola and the Organic Unsweetened Cinnamon Raisin Muesli introduced last year. Developed in response to consumers who are looking to avoid products with sugars added to their processed foods, the brand is experiencing tremendous growth with the new Organic Selects line.

No one knew what to expect really when, after 35 years as the sole owner and founder of New England Natural Bakers, John Broucek sold the company to the employees. To John’s credit or plain circumstance (probably a combination of both) the “little” company in Western Massachusetts had avoided being sold off to a corporate food behemoth and never agreed to a venture capital infusion. This “non-action,” allowed New England Natural Bakers to move from single owner to a 100% Employee Owned enterprise. The question still remained, how would it happen?

2013 PLMA was a success!

Pam Clark, VP of Sales & Marketing and John Broucek, Founder GM of New England Natural Bakers were featured on the cover of the The Griffin Report, a leading industry Trade Publication, while attending the PLMA (Private Label Manufacturers Association) Show in Chicago last month.  "Although we have been been providing co-packing solutions for our customers for years, this was only the second time we attend the show, and after so much succes at the 2012, we didn't want to miss the opportunity this year," said Clark, who leads the Sales and Marketing team on both the Private Label and Brand side.

The new line identifies trends and consumer needs in the marketplace.

Greenfield, MA – June 27th 2013 – New England Natural Bakers is excited to announce the launch of their new “Organic Select” line; three new granola products that are all Organic, non-GMO project verified and unique flavor profiles.

We realize that our success is contingent on producing unique and quality products. So, we developed the ‘Selects’ in response to consumers looking for lower sugar content and also gluten free products, said VP of Sales and Marketing Pam Clark. We are excited that we were able to get these to market quickly and the early response has been positive.

The new item launch by New England Natural Bakers, which became 100% employee-owned in January 2013, marks an aggressive strategy to increase brand presence and coincides with the brand’s recent non-GMO verification announced this week. The Organic Selects line features three new SKU’s: Organic Unsweetened Cinnamon Raisin Muesli, Organic Gluten Free Unsweetened Berry Coconut Granola and Organic Cranberry Almond Granola Clusters.

On January 1st, 2013 NENB entered into an “ESOP” or Employee Stock Ownership Program and became 100% employee owned.

The company was founded in 1977 by John Broucek and has been a mainstay in the Natural Foods industry. “The ESOP option emerged as the best solution for our 45 plus employees; guaranteeing the viability of our values based culture and preserving jobs while remaining at our current location,” says Broucek. He will remain with the company in the role of General Manager.
